New Program: Chiang Mai.
New Travel to Teach school in Chiang Mai
In the Northern part of Thailand, many children do not receive any education at all
This is especially true of children born in remote mountain villages or refugees and illegal immigrants from Burma. Many of these people are from Hill Tribes meaning that even if they are accepted into Thai government schools they are unable to speak Thai.
Travel to Teach will be running a school aimed at providing some of these kids with an education and also some food and some fun. The school also has a large garden which we plan to develop into an educational playground and also use to grow food for use at the school.

Volunteer of the Month: Yvette Stout
All volunteers are special but some are more special than others!
Yvette Stout has been working with disabled children in her native Holland. When she came to volunteer at special school in Nongkhai she got the idea to make a sensory room for the kids to relax in.
The special school houses kids with various disabilities including autism, down syndrome and muscular dystrophy and had an empty room that Yvette could use. And so with the help of some volunteers and staff in Nongkhai and funding and materials from T2T and friends in Holland the kids found themselves with a fantastic room to relax in.
The gallery below shows the sensory room progressing. Unfortunately the kids were on holiday as we inaugurated the room, but that didn't stop T2T's staff enjoying it!
New Happy Home Construction in Nepal
The new Happy Home construction in Chitwan, Nepal is in full swing!
Our partner project in Nepal already has one Happy Home in Kathmandu and is now building another one in the southern region of Chitwan.
The aim is to provide children who have either lost their parents, have been abandoned, or are working in child labour situations, with a safe and caring environment; in other words a "Happy Home”.
Once complete the new home will be able to accommodate 20 children.
New Programs in Saigon
Our Saigon Programs are open again!
May heralds the reopening of our Saigon program complete with a new coordinator and a number of wonderful new projects. We will be working alongside The Association of Women’s Charity which runs several orphanages throughout the city and the Dieu Giac Temple orphanage. Our volunteers will help provide care and additional English lessons to the children of these institutions. We will also be working in a disabled children’s center and the Tan Dinh Charity Health Care Center where volunteers with a medical background can help the local doctor’s with the clinical work.
